The Lagrein Mühlanger Sudtirol Alto Adige DOC Organic 2023 comes from Brunnenhof, Kurt Rottensteiner's organic farm in Mazon. Lagrein is the most emblematic red grape variety of Alto Adige — indigenous, cultivated almost exclusively in this province, with a personality unlike any other Italian red. Vinification is traditional: two weeks of fermentation on the skins in large 25-hectoliter oak barrels with malolactic fermentation, followed by one year of maturation in 500 and 700-liter oak barrels. Structure and complexity without losing the alpine freshness of the grape.

In the glass, it presents with a dark ruby red color with violet reflections. On the nose, blackberry, blueberry, dark chocolate, and a spicy note that emerges with aeration. In the mouth, it is tannic and savory, with a freshness that balances the structure and a long, persistent finish. A red of great personality that opens up in the glass.
