Collection: Organic Alto Adige Pinot Noir

Pinot Noir from South Tyrol has a history rooted in the Middle Ages: the Benedictine monks of the Muri-Gries monastery, founded in 1407, were among the first to cultivate this Burgundian grape variety in the Alpine valleys of South Tyrol, recognizing its extraordinary suitability for the region. Today, South Tyrol is considered the Italian region where Pinot Noir reaches its highest expression, thanks to a unique microclimate—warm summers, cool nights, temperature fluctuations of 15-20°C—that no other Italian region can replicate.

Curiosity: Pinot Noir is one of the most genetically unstable grape varieties in the world—it tends to mutate easily, giving rise to clones with very different characteristics. This instability is also the reason for its extraordinary expressive diversity: the same grape variety produces completely different wines in Burgundy, Oregon, New Zealand, and South Tyrol.

In its organic version, South Tyrolean Pinot Noir is an expression of careful and respectful mountain viticulture: raspberry, strawberry, rose, undergrowth, sweet spices, and Alpine minerality. Silky tannins, persistent freshness. Pairings: baked salmon, duck à l'orange, porcini mushroom risotto, mountain pasture cheeses.
