Chardonnay

Collection: Organic Alto Adige Chardonnay

Chardonnay is the most widely planted white grape variety in the world, capable of adapting to completely different climates and terroirs. But Alto Adige Chardonnay holds a unique position: it is perhaps the most elegant and terroir-driven in Italy, thanks to an alpine microclimate that no other Italian region can offer. It probably arrived in Alto Adige in the 19th century, brought by Austrian winemakers who governed the region, quickly adapting to the limestone and volcanic soils of the alpine valleys.

The temperature fluctuations between day and night — often exceeding 15-20°C — are the ideal condition for developing natural acidity and aromatic complexity without losing freshness: the secret of great alpine whites that no other latitude can replicate.

Fun fact: Alto Adige is the Italian region with the highest concentration of award-winning white wines in international guides. Alto Adige Chardonnay is often compared to great white Burgundies in international blind tastings — a comparison that local producers proudly accept, preferring however that their wines be judged for what they are: unique expressions of an unrepeatable alpine territory.

In its organic version, Alto Adige Chardonnay surprises with its finesse: brilliant straw yellow color, aromas of golden apple, white peach, acacia flowers, and a mineral note reminiscent of chalk. On the palate it is fresh, elegant, with lively acidity and a clean, persistent finish. Pairings: speck and porcini mushroom risotto, salmon trout with alpine butter, semi-aged alpine cheeses, scallops with butter and lemon.
