What is the best Italian organic Vermentino?

Italian organic Vermentino stands out for its intense aromas of citrus, white peach, wildflowers, and a saline note typical of coastal areas. On the palate, it is fresh, savory, with an acidic freshness that makes it perfect as an aperitif and throughout a meal. The Gallura DOCG versions — the most prestigious designation — express a complexity and minerality that bring them close to great Italian white wines. Vermentino di Gallura vs Vermentino di Sardegna: what's the difference?

Vermentino di Gallura DOCG is produced exclusively in northern Sardinia, on granitic soils that give the wine superior minerality and structure. Vermentino di Sardegna DOP, on the other hand, covers the entire island and is generally fresher and more drinkable. Both types, in the organic versions from our producers, express the best of the grape without corrective interventions.
