2024

The Vermentino di Sardegna DOP BIO comes from Fattorie Isola, an organic farm in Sardinia. Vermentino is the island's signature white grape — cultivated along the coasts and in the inland hills for centuries, it is the wine Sardinians drink with fish, bottarga, and fresh local cheeses.

Fattorie Isola interprets it with artisanal care that is clearly felt in the glass: manual harvesting at the end of September, when the grapes are well sun-ripened, and a winemaking process that prioritizes freshness and aromatic purity.

Winemaking

Manual harvesting in crates. Immediate cooling to +5°C for 48 hours. Cold maceration of the skins for 12 hours after crushing — a precise technical choice that extracts aromatic complexity and minerality without yielding tannins. Fermentation in steel tanks to preserve the Vermentino's intact fragrance.

On the Nose and Palate

Straw yellow color with green reflections. On the nose, citrus, white flowers, and Mediterranean herbs. On the palate, dry, with good minerality and a pleasant persistence that recalls the sea and sun of Sardinia.

Recommended For

For those who want to discover Vermentino di Sardegna in its organic and artisanal version — not the industrial white from large retailers, but a wine with recognizable terroir and minerality. It's the right bottle for those who love dry, savory whites and for those looking for a quality pairing with fish.

When to Drink It

Immediately, well chilled, within 2 years of the vintage to best enjoy its aromatic freshness. Ideal at 8–10°C in a tulip-shaped glass to enhance its aromas.

Taste Characteristics

A dry and mineral Vermentino, where aromatic freshness is integrated with a savoriness that recalls the Sardinian terroir. Cold maceration of the skins adds complexity without weighing it down. The finish is persistent and clean, with a minerality that invites another sip.

Why We Chose This Wine

Because Fattorie Isola's Vermentino tells the story of Sardinia with honesty — organic, hand-harvested, with winemaking that prioritizes freshness. The cold maceration of the skins is a precise technical choice that distinguishes this wine from industrially produced Vermentino. We offer it because it completes our Sardinian selection with the island's reference white wine.
