Vermentino IGT Toscana BIO - Argenteo

The Vermentino IGT Toscana BIO 2024 Argenteo from Podere Casina originates in the Tuscan Maremma, 150 meters above sea level, on clay soils with a south-westerly exposure. The winemaking process is precise and unconventional: manual harvest in the second week of September, cooling of the grapes to 6°C, double separate fermentation — one with selected yeasts and one spontaneous at 18°C — to build complexity without losing freshness. Aging in steel with bâtonnage until March, then one month in bottle. The result is a rich and enveloping white with an agile and pleasant drinkability.

In the glass, it presents a straw yellow with golden reflections. The nose reveals intense aromas of aromatic herbs and salted capers that evoke the Mediterranean — an unusual and recognizable profile, far from floral and easy whites. In the mouth, it is rich and enveloping, with a surprising freshness for a white of this structure.

Recommended for: Those who love whites with personality and are not satisfied with usual floral aromas. Argenteo is the ideal choice with pesto pasta, herb risotto, baked fish with capers and olives, roasted white meats, and medium-aged cheeses.
