The Lagrein Mühlanger Sudtirol Alto Adige DOC BIO 2023 comes from Brunnenhof, Kurt Rottensteiner's organic farm in Mazon. Lagrein is South Tyrol's most distinctive red grape variety—indigenous, cultivated almost exclusively in this province, with a personality unlike any other Italian red. The winemaking is traditional: two weeks of fermentation on the skins in large 25-hectoliter oak barrels with malolactic fermentation, followed by one year of maturation in 500 and 700-liter oak barrels. Structure and complexity without losing the alpine freshness of the varietal.

In the glass, it presents a dark ruby red with violet reflections. On the nose, blackberry, blueberry, dark chocolate, and a spicy note emerge with oxygenation. On the palate, it is tannic and savory, with a freshness that balances the structure and a long, persistent finish. A red of great personality that opens up in the glass.
