The Barolo Bricco Boschis DOCG BIO comes from one of the most exclusive crus in the Langhe: the Bricco Boschis of Castiglione Falletto, a plot exclusively owned by the Cavallotto family for generations. It is not a commercial selection — it is a specific place, with sun-drenched hills and marly clay-limestone soils that give Nebbiolo a structure and complexity that cannot be replicated elsewhere.
Cavallotto is among the pioneers of organic farming in Piedmont: already in the 1970s, when industrial chemistry dominated the Langhe, the family eliminated herbicides and returned to natural vineyard management. Today that choice is certified, but above all, it is visible in the glass.
In the cellar, no shortcuts: spontaneous fermentations with indigenous yeasts, long macerations with a semi-submerged cap (18-30 days), aging in large Slavonian oak barrels for over three years. No barriques, no toasting that covers the Nebbiolo. The result is a Barolo that tastes of the Langhe, not of wood.
The color is ruby red with garnet reflections. The bouquet is ample: undergrowth, wild rose, leather, dark spices, camphor. On the palate, morello cherry, black raspberry, truffle, mint, star anise, and a finish of blood orange. Solid and well-integrated tannins, lively acidity that guarantees longevity.

Recommended for
For those seeking a Barolo capable of representing the classic elegance of the Langhe without compromise. It is an ideal bottle for those who already know Nebbiolo, as well as for those who wish to discover one of the great Italian wines starting from an absolute benchmark label — that of a family that chose organic before it became a trend.
When to drink
It is already enjoyable today but has all the characteristics to evolve magnificently over the years if stored correctly. The 2021 vintage in the Langhe was balanced and of great quality — a Barolo that will give its best between 5 and 15 years.
Taste Characteristics
A deep, structured, and harmonious Barolo, where the strength of Nebbiolo combines with remarkable elegance. The finish is long and persistent, with a balance that invites another sip. It is not a wine that is fully understood on the first glass — and that is precisely its merit.
Why we chose this wine
We chose it because Cavallotto is one of the few producers in the Langhe who has always done things well, without chasing trends or markets. Bricco Boschis is a monopoly cru — meaning no one else can produce this wine. We are in Diano d'Alba, a few kilometers from Castiglione Falletto: we collect the bottles directly from the winery, with guaranteed traceability and preservation. It is consistent with our selection because it combines organic rigor, precise territorial identity, and a production history worth telling.
FAQ
What dishes pair with Barolo Bricco Boschis?
Braised beef in Barolo, Florentine steak, game, aged hard cheeses. For those who dare, also with high-percentage dark chocolate.
Why is Bricco Boschis a cru?
Bricco Boschis is a specific plot exclusively owned by the Cavallotto family in Castiglione Falletto. The term "cru" indicates a vineyard with unique soil and exposure characteristics that are directly reflected in the wine — it is not replicable elsewhere.
Is it truly organic?
Yes, with official certification. But the story goes further: Cavallotto has practiced natural agriculture since 1970, eliminating chemical herbicides decades before organic became a market trend.
How long can it age?
15-20 years in the best vintages. It is one of the Italian wines with the greatest aging potential thanks to the natural acidity of Nebbiolo and traditional aging in large barrels.
Can I buy it as a gift?
It is probably the most significant gift for an Italian wine enthusiast. If you wish, also consider the Barolo Riserva Vigna San Giuseppe — same producer, same cru, even longer aging.
