2019
The Nero d'Avola Alcamo DOC BIO comes from Bosco Falconeria, an organic family-run farm active since 1933, a few kilometers from Palermo with a view of the Gulf of Castellammare. Since 1989, the company has been officially converted to organic — a choice made out of conviction, not fashion, which results in healthy vineyards and wines that tell the story of unfiltered Sicily.
The grapes are hand-picked at the beginning of September and spontaneously ferment on the skins in steel. Nine months of aging in steel, then bottled. No wood, no artificial concentration — just Nero d'Avola in its most direct and territorial character.
The color is intense red. The nose reveals ripe cherry, red fruit, and a spicy note. On the palate, it is velvety and appropriately tannic, with a structure that balances strength and finesse. The finish is persistent and warm, typically Sicilian.

Recommended for
For those who want to discover Nero d'Avola in its most honest and territorial version — without barriques, without concentration, without tricks. Bosco Falconeria has been producing organic wine for almost 40 years on land overlooking the Gulf of Castellammare: the result is a red that tastes of real Sicily, not international enology.
When to drink
It is already enjoyable today, but it has all the characteristics to evolve magnificently over the next 3-5 years if stored correctly. The 2019 vintage is mature and ready — open it without ceremony.
Taste characteristics
A Nero d'Avola balanced between strength and finesse. The velvety palate is its signature — present but never aggressive tannins, well-integrated ripe fruit, a warm and persistent finish that invites another sip.
Why we chose this wine
Because Bosco Falconeria is one of the longest-standing organic wineries in Sicily — organic since 1989, family-run, with a philosophy of minimal intervention in the vineyard and cellar. Their Nero d'Avola is consistent with our selection: artisanal quality, recognizable territory, affordable price.
FAQ
What dishes pair with Nero d'Avola Alcamo DOC BIO?
Roast meats, BBQ, mixed grills, first courses with red meat ragù. Also excellent with baked pasta and traditional Sicilian lamb dishes.
Is it a certified organic wine?
Yes. Bosco Falconeria has been organic since 1989, with official certification. No synthetic pesticides in the vineyard, spontaneous fermentation in the cellar.
Why is the vintage 2019?
Bosco Falconeria's Nero d'Avola is aged for a long time before being released. The 2019 vintage is now at its optimal point of maturation — ready to drink and with still room for evolution.
How long can it age?
3-5 years from the vintage under ideal storage conditions. The tannic structure and acidity support its evolution in the bottle.
