Organic Negroamaro Salento: The Apulian Wine to Discover
Share
Negroamaro is one of Puglia's most representative native grape varieties. Cultivated for centuries in Salento, this red grape variety best expresses the power of the southern sun, the richness of the calcareous soil, and the winemaking tradition of a land that has made wine its identity.
But what truly makes an organic Negroamaro special? The answer lies in the method: no chemicals in the vineyard, manual harvesting, and respect for the natural maceration and aging times. The result is a wine that tells the story of its territory without filters.
Characteristics of Negroamaro Salento IGT BIO
The Negroamaro Salento IGT BIO from Masseria Masciullo presents an intense ruby red color with violet reflections. The nose is dominated by a generous bouquet of ripe red fruit β cherry, blackberry, plum β enriched by delicate spicy nuances.
On the palate, it is soft and persistent: a warm and enveloping sip, typically Mediterranean, balancing red fruit with elegant spicy notes. Medium body, medium aromatic intensity, long finish.

How it's produced
Harvesting is done manually, in crates, in the first ten days of October. After cluster selection, destemming, and ten days of maceration, the wine ages for twelve months in tanks and four months in the bottle. An artisanal process that preserves the identity of the grape without corrective interventions.
Food Pairings
Negroamaro Salento BIO is a table wine in the noblest sense of the term: it is made to accompany food. It pairs perfectly with:
- Braised and stewed red meats
- Mixed grills
- Roast lamb and pork
- Pasta dishes with meat sauce
- Aged Puglian cheeses
Why choose an organic Negroamaro
Organic wines from Salento are not just an ethical choice β they are often better wines. Without pesticides and herbicides, the vines develop deeper roots, absorb more minerals, and produce more concentrated and healthy grapes. The result in the glass is a more authentic wine, with fewer additives and more character.
Masseria Masciullo is one of the small artisan producers that ALBio Corini has selected precisely for this reason: wines that tell the story of Puglia without compromise.
