In Gallura, in northern Sardinia, granite outcrops are everywhere. It's a rugged, windy land, fragrant with Mediterranean scrub – and Vermentino has been at home here for centuries. Cantina Manconi cultivates this territory with organic respect and a rigorous selection of grapes, producing wines that tell the story of Gallura unfiltered. Loisa is their Vermentino di Gallura Superiore DOCG – the highest version of the denomination, with lower yields and an aromatic complexity that basic Vermentino cannot achieve.
Harvest is manual, pressing is soft, and fermentation occurs at controlled temperatures with selected yeasts. Aging takes place in steel tanks for 6-8 months, followed by two months of rest in the bottle before market release. A precise winemaking process that preserves the mineral and floral aromas typical of the grape variety and the territory.
Elegant straw yellow in color. Mineral aromas on the nose with delicate floral notes that enhance the typicality of Vermentino and the unique character of Gallura. Fresh and persistent on the palate, with a slightly bitter aftertaste that adds pleasant complexity.

Who it's recommended for
For those who love mineral, savory, and characterful white wines. Vermentino di Gallura Superiore DOCG is one of Italy's most interesting white denominations – little known outside Sardinia, but capable of delivering emotions that northern white wines cannot. It is the right choice for those who want to discover Sardinia through a glass.
When to drink it
Young, within 2-3 years of the harvest, when the minerality and floral aromas are at their peak. Excellent as an aperitif or with a structured fish dinner. Serve it at 12-14°C to appreciate all its complexity.
Taste Characteristics
Fresh, persistent, with a minerality reminiscent of Gallura's granite. The slightly bitter aftertaste is the signature of Sardinian Vermentino – not a defect, but an element of complexity that distinguishes this wine from softer, easier whites. A white wine that grows in the glass.
Why we chose this wine
Because Cantina Manconi works in Gallura with organic rigor and a knowledge of the territory that can be tasted in every sip. Loisa is their Vermentino Superiore – the most serious and complex version of the range, with controlled yields and prolonged aging. We chose it because it represents Sardinian white wine in its highest expression, and because it is a wine that tells the story of a unique territory in the world.
Frequently Asked Questions
What dishes pair well with Vermentino di Gallura Superiore?
Baked fish, Catalan-style lobster, bottarga, fresh Sardinian cheeses, white meats. It is the ideal wine for Sardinian seafood cuisine.
What is the difference between Vermentino di Gallura Superiore DOCG and Vermentino di Sardegna DOC?
The Gallura DOCG is reserved for vineyards in northern Sardinia on granite soils, with lower yields. The result is a more mineral, complex, and longer-lasting wine compared to Vermentino di Sardegna DOC.
Should it be served very cold?
No – 12-14°C is the ideal temperature. Too cold flattens the aromas and hides the minerality, which is its strong point.
