The Manzoni Bianco Eva comes from Brunnenhof, Kurt Rottensteiner's organic farm in Mazon, in the heart of South Tyrol. Manzoni Bianco is a rare grape variety — a cross between Riesling and Pinot Bianco created in the 1930s by Luigi Manzoni in Conegliano. Almost extinct, today it is cultivated by very few producers in Italy. Brunnenhof is one of them, and the result is a white wine unlike any other.

As an early-ripening variety, Manzoni Bianco is harvested in mid-September. The destemmed grapes are carefully pressed after a short skin contact, then fermented in steel tanks and remain on the fine lees until Easter. No wood, no malolactic fermentation — just fruit, freshness, and volcanic minerality.

On the nose, white flowers, peach, citrus, and a clean mineral note. On the palate, fresh, savory, with a lightness that makes it perfect from the first course to dessert. Precise and persistent finish.

Who is it recommended for?

For those who want to discover a rare and almost unknown grape variety, vinified by one of the most serious organic farms in South Tyrol. Manzoni Bianco is a conversation starter — something your guests have never tasted and will remember. It is also the right choice for those looking for a fresh and versatile white wine without sacrificing complexity.

When to drink it?

It is already enjoyable today and intended for immediate pleasure. Ideal within 2 years of the vintage to best enjoy its aromatic freshness. It does not need decanting — open and pour.

Taste Characteristics

A fresh, savory, and precise white wine, where Mazon's volcanic minerality is clearly expressed. The aging on lees until Easter adds a subtle complexity without making the wine heavy. Light but not trivial — every sip reveals something new.

Why we chose this wine

Because Manzoni Bianco is one of Italy's rarest grape varieties, and finding it in an organic version from a farm like Brunnenhof is an opportunity that is not easily found. We offer it because it is consistent with our mission: to bring wines that tell a precise story — a grape variety, a territory, a production history.

FAQ

What dishes pair with Manzoni Bianco Eva?
Steamed or grilled fish, fish risottos, pasta with vegetables, fresh cheeses, light appetizers. Its freshness makes it versatile across the entire meal.

What is Manzoni Bianco?
A rare grape variety created in the 1930s by Luigi Manzoni, director of the Conegliano School of Oenology, by crossing Riesling and Pinot Bianco. Almost extinct for decades, today it is cultivated by very few producers in Trentino-Alto Adige and Veneto.

Is it a certified organic wine?
Yes. Brunnenhof is a certified organic farm in South Tyrol. Kurt Rottensteiner works without synthetic pesticides on volcanic porphyry soils.

Why does it remain on the lees until Easter?
Aging on fine lees (spent yeast) adds complexity, structure, and a slight creaminess to the wine without altering its freshness. It is a common technique in quality white wines from South Tyrol.
